McKinney, TX (March 24, 2015) – Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County to hold the Wall Raising Ceremony for two homes built by Darling Homes for their 2015 Builders Blitz. The Ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 28th at 1:00 pm. These homes are located at 1001 Rockwall and 1010 Lindsey in McKinney and will be home number 95 and 96 for NCC Habitat as they count down to number 100 this year.
Purchasing these homes are the Garcia Family and the McFadden Family. Both families are headed by single mothers. Thanks to Darling Homes, 7 children will have the blessing of a safe and secure home, and their own place to play and be healthy.
“As homebuilders, we have always felt that it just makes sense to give back to our own industry and community. What better way to do that than to provide a home for a family through Habitat for Humanity,” said Steve Darling of Darling Homes. “There is nothing better than seeing the joy on these families faces when we present them with the keys to their new home!”
Both homes will be built entirely with InKind Gifts from Darling Homes. With these homes, Darling has now built 15 homes with NCC Habitat. #BuildersBlitz
About Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity (NCC Habitat) is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles. We put God’s love into action by building homes and communities. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. We encourage positive relationships throughout the community by advocating for fair housing policies and by providing training to help families improve their shelter conditions.
NCC Habitat was incorporated in 1992. We enable families throughout northern Collin County (Anna, Celina, Farmersville, Frisco, McKinney, Melissa, Princeton, and Prosper) to achieve the dream of home ownership and dignity. With the help of partnerships, NCC Habitat has built over 97 houses. We also have started a new program called “A Brush With Kindness” where we help low income families with exterior repairs including roof, siding, paint and general clean up. We’ve served 81 families through this program (mostly seniors). Internationally, NCC Habitat has built 34 homes in Mexico, Egypt, Asia Tsunami & Honduras. Habitat also operates a ReStore that is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday. We sell new and gently used building materials and furniture to the public.
