Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County has Teamed Up with 90.9 KCBI FM as a Ministry of the Month Partner which Kicked-Off with Volunteers Building Homes
McKinney, TX (July 2, 2015) – Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County and 90.9 KCBI FM are teaming up as Ministry Partners for the Month of July along with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. The partnership kicked-off with a KCBI Summer of Service Build Day on Saturday, June 27th.
KCBI has devoted significant broadcast time to make listeners aware of the need for decent, affordable housing in our communities, and encouraged listeners to get involved by volunteering to build with NCC Habitat and the Dallas Area Habitat. The culmination of their efforts was realized Saturday, June 27th, with listeners volunteering at our NCC Habitat KCBI Build Day event in McKinney, Texas.
KCBI Quote: “Both Habitat for Humanity and KCBI care deeply about changing the lives of those we serve,” said KCBI General Manager Matt Austin. “We are delighted that so many listeners responded to the opportunity to help families experience the joy of home ownership and a brighter future.”
Volunteers worked on the homes of single mothers, Veronica Castro and Kay McFadden. Volunteers painted inside walls for the Castro family home, constructed framing of the McFadden home, and painted a McKinney home on one of our Brush with Kindness home repair projects. Lunch for all volunteers was donated by RaceTrac.
Jason Jupiterwala, member of NCC Habitat’s Board of Directors, said,” It was exciting to see two great organizations partnering together to put God’s love into action by building homes for low-income families. Both NCC Habitat and KCBI are actively serving our community, and I am grateful to have been a part of such a tremendous day.”

About Habitat for Humanity of North Collin County
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity (NCC Habitat) is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles. We put God’s love into action by building homes and communities. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide. We encourage positive relationships throughout the community by advocating for fair housing policies and by providing training to help families improve their shelter conditions.
NCC Habitat was incorporated in 1992. We enable families throughout northern Collin County (Anna, Celina, Farmersville, Frisco, McKinney, Melissa, Princeton, and Prosper) to achieve the dream of home ownership and dignity. With the help of partnerships, NCC Habitat has built over 95 houses. We also have started a new program called “A Brush with Kindness” where we help low income families with exterior repairs including roof, siding, paint and general clean up. We’ve served 81 families through this program (mostly seniors). Internationally, NCC Habitat has built 34 homes in Mexico, Egypt, Asia Tsunami & Honduras. Habitat also operates a ReStore that is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday. We sell new and gently used building materials and furniture to the public.
